We have a debt management plan in place and have so for 2 years. We want to remortgage and possibly move home. We want to clear off debts, paying the debt plan with full and final settlement which is in region of 30k. Our home has been valued at 270,000 and want to buy a bigger home in region of 340,000. We have had a default put on our record about 13 months ago. Many thanks, Emma
Ask the Specialist response:
Thanks for your enquiry.
Typically, we assist clients that are in the middle of a debt management plan, as long as the plan has been facilitated for the last twelve months correctly. It is not unusual to hear potential clients be stuck looking to obtain finance through alternative sources, especially the banks who often require any plans are settled for a full six years on application.
The lender would need to take into consideration the reasoning behind the plan and that your circumstances have improved since, however, given your specific circumstances, I'd recommend speaking to one of our Advisers on 02077100400 or send us an enquiry online and one of our Advisers will call you back.
